Maple Grove 3, Chisago Lakes 1 The Wildcats stepped up their level of competition in the out-of-conference schedule with a home match against the Maple Grove Crimson. The Northwest Suburban Conference foe is 9-3 on the season, and they proved that they are a very good team by besting Chisago Lakes 3-1. Despite the four-set loss, the Wildcats played well, according to Head Coach Ashley Jamros. “We played very well against them,” she said. “We were able to compete at a high level with a good program. We just made small mistakes in each game that added up in the long run.” Chisago Lakes 3, Columbia Heights 0 The Wildcats used their North Suburban tilt with Columbia Heights as more of a tune up than anything else. The Hylanders haven’t been competitive in the NSC for years now, and they are 2-8 on the 2012 season so far. One of their wins came against the Academy for Sciences and Agriculture. The Wildcats buzzed through Heights, not allowing them to score more than 12 points in a set. “We played well against Heights,” Jamros said. “We served very well against them and took away their front row attack.” The win moved Chisago Lakes to 4-0 in the North Suburban Conference. They traveled to Irondale earlier this week, but the Knights have yet to win in the NSC yet, and they have a big showdown with St. Francis in the CLHS Gym on Thursday, Sep. 27.
