There were two reports to Lake Area Police of vehicle tampering at Schmidt’s auto service center in Chisago City, one incident Aug 15 and one Aug 17. Doors were found open and there were visible signs of vehicles being gone through both times. No details on any items missing. About 7:30 Aug. 17 officers with Lakes Area were called to an incident (at the address of Smitty’s Bar) on a report of a man cutting somebody’s face with a knife. Suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived. The assault is under investigation.

Two area males were booked for possessing a substance that tested positive as methamphetamine. The two were located inside a vehicle in Chisago City, “passed out” when officers went to that address attempting to collect insurance information in connection with a vehicle crash earlier this month.

Unruly campers at Wild River State Park near Almelund, August 16, caused park rangers to request assistance from local agencies in ousting the group...deputies arrived about 11:30 p.m. and helped remove the campers and make sure they cleaned up their mess.

August 14 a theft of a red Cushman vintage utility vehicle reported from an address on Athens Trail, Lent Township. Theft of a Dixon zero turn lawnmower also reported from a Rush City address, the mower is blue.
