Maynard O. Wedell went home to the Good Lord on Dec. 10, 2013. Age 90 years. Loving husband of Elaine (nee Joswick) for 65 years. Beloved dad of John (Gretchen), Mark (Lynn), Wayne and the late Amy Mindemann who lost a courageous battle with cancer.
Proud grandpa of Josh, Alice, Olivia, Emily, Lauretta, Natalie, Scott, Ryan, Katie, Benjamin, Jeremy, Jenny, Mark and Jessica and his three great-grandchildren, Reign, J.J. and Genesee. Dear brother of Lucille McNamara, Burton Wedell and the late Wilbur Wedell and Gladys Marshall. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Maynard Wedell served in the Army Signal Corps in World War II from April 1943 to December 1945. He was responsible for radio and telephone repair and communications, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the war, Maynard was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone from 1946 to 1983 as District Manager. His responsibilities included equipment, inventory, engineering and circuit design.
Visitation will be Mon. Dec. 16 at the Funeral Home from 3:30 PM until time of Funeral Services at 5:30 PM. Internment will be Tues. Dec. 17 at 10 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery, Lannon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 E. 56th St. 8th Floor New York, NY 10022 or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
