Marjorie R. Womac, age 87, left this world peacefully on February 2, 2013 to be reunited with her sweetheart Jim in eternity. Marge, as most called her, was a woman of extraordinary inner strength, compassion, dignity and commitment. She always was concerned with the needs and feelings of others which was evident up until the day she passed. With her kind and caring manner she touched lives without even realizing it. Her unconditional love for her family was and will forever be treasured by all.
Marge was born in Cambridge, MN March 4, 1925 to Arthur and Ida Palmquist. She had two brothers and five sisters. The family moved several times during her childhood years resulting in her attending over 13 different schools. She graduated high school in 1943 and soon after met and married Capt.James Womac. Being the wife of a military man, she continued her moves throughout the US and Germany, raising three girls along the way. When Jim retired from the military in 1960 they settled in Chisago City, MN to be near her family. Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker but also contributed to the community in several volunteer positions from hospital auxiliary, secretary of the First United Methodist church, Camp Fire leader, and Red Cross Blood Drive coordinator. More moves were ahead, as they enjoyed retirement years in New Mexico, Florida and finally, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Marge is survived by daughters Mary Beth (Donald) Farmer; Kay (Steve) Dahlgren; Nancie (Dale), Grabow; grandchildren, Steven (Debra) Farmer, Deborah Farmer, Ryan (Jackie) Dahlgren, Rebecca (Brady) Jenneman, Jim Dahlgren, Matt Grabow; great-grandchildren, Marshall and Robert Farmer, Preston, Isabella and Victoria Jenneman, Carson and Josie Dahlgren; special friends Traci (Cameron, Evan) Karpe-Fuchs, sisters Gertrude Nelson, June Troutman, and Mary Alice Tornell, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
Her family is so very grateful to the staff and community at HeatherWood Assisted Living for their kindness and wonderful care during her 2 1/2 years there, to her attending doctors and staff at Luther Midelfort, and also to the extraordinary attention given by all during her final stay at the Transitional Care Unit in Bloomer Hospital.
