A good-old fashioned spelling bee was held at Chisago Lakes High School Performing Arts Center Tuesday, January 29.    Usual stumpers like “paucity,” “amateurish” and “compendium” tripped up spellers early on, but in the end it was the word “quiver” that ended the bee and gave sixth grader, Kacey Wachholz the title.  

The other two spellers that will represent Chisago Lakes at the regional bee in St. Cloud will be Alex Schmidt and Iris Redland.  Community Education would like to thank the judges that took time from their busy schedules to participate in the bee; Keith Carlson, Matt Silver, Carol Harris and Kathy Kirvida.
