Stacy fatal crash case trial set for June 3
A Lindstrom woman facing charges of criminal vehicular homicide pled not guilty last week and her jury trial date is tentatively scheduled for June 3, according to County Attorney Janet Reiter. Brooke Bednarek, now 20, responded to the criminal complaint alleging she was responsible for driving under the influence when Jonathan Gravelle was killed last year. Bednarek’s car hit a car stopped at the four-way stop signs in Stacy, about 3 a.m. Her friend, 20-year-old Gravelle, died at the accident scene. Bednarek was released on her own recognizance and ordered by the court not to use or possess alcohol or controlled substances and submit to random tests and the case was continued to the next scheduled omnibus (evidentiary) hearing March 16.
