Chisago Lakes senior Gwen Vitalis signed her Letter of Intent to play soccer at Winona State University. She is flanked by her parents Wade and Carol Vitalis in the photo. She earned her way to WSU despite suffering a broken leg early in her senior year of soccer. "It is working through pain as is the case with most recoveries. We are all feeling good about her recovery,” Wade said about her daughter’s rehab. “She has such a passion for the game and the determination to get through to playing again.” Vitalis was an attacking forward for the Wildcats, but she has played other position early in her career.
