Dorothy H. Molnar of Chisago City died Wednesday Dec. 26 at Ecumen North Branch, at the age of 91. Dorothy was born May 12, 1921 to Godfrey and Maria Bather at Lester Prairie, MN. She was baptized at home on June 5, 1921 and Confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church, Bergen Twp. on Nov. 3, 1935. On January 9, 1944 she married James Molnar in St. Louis, MO. Marriage vows were renewed at Zion Lutheran Church on their 5oth anniversary, with Rev. Glenn Hanggi, officiating. They operated a drive-in in the mid 50s. She worked for Morrie Erickson at the Chisago County Press in Lindstrom and then worked for 14 years at the Chisago Lakes Lakeside School as a secretary, retiring in 1980. Dorothy was a charter member of the Fairview Lakes Auxiliary, belonged to Lydia Circle and attended Mission Workshops. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Sr., and daughter Jeanne. She is survived by her sons James Jr. (Daphne) of Center City; Richard (Kathy) of Centuria, WI.; daughter LouAnn (Brad) Mattson of Lindstrom; grandchildren Ronald Nelson of Longmont, CO; James Paul Molnar of Minneapolis; Molly (Donald) Ells of Shoreview; Jill (Joshua) Pogorelec of Pardeeville, WI; Benjamin Mattson of Lindstrom; great-grandchildren Joseph and Abigail Pogorelec, and sister Lorraine Pearce of Hutchinson. Memorial services Saturday, Dec. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. Interment was in the Chisago Memorial Park. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, in Lindstrom.
