Dorothy A. Herman

Dorothy A. Herman, age 90, of Chisago City, MN, passed away January 12, 2013. She was born on June 7, 1922, in Nemaha, Iowa to parents Robert and Wilma (Barrett) Cooper. Dorothy attended elementary school in Humboldt, Iowa, and High School and nurse training in Chicago, Illinois before marrying Jim Herman and moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She lived in Cedar Rapids from 1951 to 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Henry James Herman and George W. Thiher; son Ronald James Herman and two sisters; Merry Kelley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Margaret Brookner of Dallas, Texas. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Michael (Phyllis) Herman of Chisago City, Minnesota and James Herman of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren Sara Herman and David Herman, both of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sisters, Jean Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Carol (David) Rueber of Kanawha, Iowa, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy’s wishes are that donations be made to St. Patrick’s Church of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
