July 1 a pole building burned in Fish Lake Township on Stark Road. The fire was called in about 11 p.m. Cambridge Fire Dept. assisted at the scene. No pets, animals or people were in the shed, and according to the preliminary report the cause could have been a 1976 Chevrolet that had been parked at the scene about an hour earlier.

The Fourth of July was fairly uneventful-- sheriff’s dispatch took a complaint call of a big, noisey party, on 424th Street near Harris, that reportedly involved many underage drinkers. Homeowners at the residence were ticketed by deputies under the social host ordinance, for illegally providing a location and allowing minor consumption.

A three-wheel motorcycle caught fire about 3:30 p.m. near 35000 Forest Blvd. July 6 deputies were called to the scene of a crash, about 2:30 a.m. at Lofton and Stacy Trail north of Chisago City.

July 6 deputies were called to the scene of a crash, about 2:30 a.m. at Lofton and Stacy Trail north of Chisago City.  An allegedly drunk driver had fled the scene leaving a passenger who was seriously injured.  A K9 unit attempted to track the scent of the driver with no success, but the suspect was located a few hours later and arrested.

Charges filed in North Branch tobacco store raid
by DENISE MARTIN
The Chisago County attorney announced charges against two men for felony sale of synthetic cannabinoids. The suspects were identified after authorities raided King Tobacco shop in North Branch, June 14. The East Central Drug & Violent Offender Task Force had made buys of products at the shop the month before, that reportedly tested positive for synthetic marijuana, according to the task force commander. North Branch Police then assisted the special multi-county task force in executing a search warrant and seizing products and cash from the store.

According to the criminal complaint authorities took quantities of “Volcano” and “Liberty” which are trade names for synthetic marijuana. Tests were done at a lab in Wisconsin which aided in identifying the chemical composition (of the Volcano product) to determine if it qualifies under the controlled substances analog in Minnesota statutes.

Charged with three counts is Tin Trong Do, 38, of St. Cloud, who is referred to in the criminal complaint as the store owner. He is charged by complaint with two counts of felony aiding and abetting sale of synthetic marijuana, and one charge of possessing synthetic marijuana. Also, his brother-- Binh Van Do, age 51, of Little Falls-- is charged with two identical counts of sale and one count of possession. The sale offenses carry maximum penalties of five years and/or a $10,000 fine. The misdemeanor possession charges could result in 90 days and/or a $1,000 fine.
