During Lent, Chisago Lake Lutheran re-creates DaVinci's 'Last Supper' painting
During the Wednesdays of Lent, members of Chisago Lake Lutheran have been recreating Leonardo DaVinci’s painting of The Last Supper. The painting has come to life gradually as two disciples have been added each week. Maundy Thursday, Jesus joins the 12 disciples, and the events of that last night together unfold.
Area residents included in this presentation of The Last Supper are: Lance Hoff, Al Winterlin, Jerry Vitalis, Rod Strenke, Tim Lantz, Heath Glenna, Nick Barr, Don Bungum, Steve Sontag, Craig Lundstad-Vogt, Craig Roberts, Nathan Johnson, and Bill Gemuenden.
The background setting was painted by Gloria Peterson and built by Don Bungum, and the table was assembled by Judy Nelson. This service, and Good Friday Worship at 7:30 p.m., March 29 are both open to anyone who wishes to join in the Lenten journey, and follow Christ to his last hours, his suffering, and his death on the cross on Good Friday.
After experiencing this journey, the explosive nature of the Easter Resurrection comes in new ways, and in new life.
