Despite some rain clouds and chilly weather out on the lakes, the fourth annual Chisago Lakes Carp Fishing tourney was a success for anglers and area lakes. There were 579 carp harvested from the lakes, including some gigantic ones. The team of Dusenka, Remerowski and Stanway shot the biggest carp on the night, a 28.7 pound behemoth. That earned the three a G3 Boat from Frankie’s Marine.

The trio only shot three fish, but they made them count. The team of Magilke, Magilke and Hoffman came in second in the big fish contect, arrowing a 24.2 pound carp. In the overall tournament, the trio of Sasson, Tidd and Gariepy shot the most carp, bringing in 67 fish and winning $1,700 for their efforts. The team of Axley, Axley and Elgin finished in second with 55 fish and earned $1,020. The tournament was held on area lakes and went overnight as anglers set out at night and had to be back to Frankie’s by 11 a.m. It was the first time the tournament spanned more than one day.
