L. Patrick Greene

L. Patrick Greene, March 17, 1933 – May 21, 2013. Pat died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Pat was born March 17, 1933 to Anna and Aloysius Greene on the family farm in Franconia Township. He was the fourth generation to live on the Greene family where he spent his life as a dairy and crop farmer with the exception of two years (1954-1956) when he was in the US Army.

During that time, he was stationed in Germany and worked as a radio repairman. In his later years he enjoyed traveling through Germany, where he was able to connect with descendants of the Greene family. Pat enjoyed welding, fabricating and construction including assisting with building homes for a few of his children.

He is preceded in death by his sons Aaron and Matthew, sisters Mildred and Mary Ann, brothers Cyril, Herb and George.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; his brother Ralph; children Damian (Heather) Greene, Elizabeth (Bryan) Breaw, Joe Greene, and Jeremy (Laura) Greene. He enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren and recently became a great-grandfather.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Franconia Township, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a charitable organization of your choice. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola.
