From 10 inches to 75 degrees; Saturday has many events for you
What a stroke of luck we have had with the weather. Friday brought us close to 10 inches of snow. I was convinced the stuff would never leave, but then it happened, the sun came out. Like a ray of hope, the sun seemed to lift everything. People were smiling, even as they cleared their driveways. We have made it. We are on the downslope of the hill. No more below zero temperatures. Heck we might even get walloped with more snow, but hey, look how long this last round lasted, about 2 days. My goodness it has been one brutally long winter hasn’t it?
You are invited to take part in an Easter egg Hunt this weekend. Chisago City is inviting children of all ages to come hunt for the golden egg. The hunt will take place regardless of the weather, so please dress your children appropriately. Along with an egg hunt, there will be games and face painting. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for some great photo opportunities with your children. You are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food shelf. Last year the kids hunted for eggs in the snow, not this year.
The first ever Chisago Lakes Middle School 5k run/walk takes place this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The race will benefit Middle School programs and is a great way to kick off Spring. After all of the snow and cold, I think we all are itching to get out and stretch our legs. You can register online at www.active.com/lindstrom-mn/running/races/chisago-lakes-middle-school-5k-2014 or go to the Chisago Lakes Middle School website. You may also register at the PAC on Saturday morning from 7 to 8:30 a.m. The race will begin and end at the High School. There will also be kids races following the big race/walk. Come on out and enjoy the weather.
Recycled Wardrobes in Lindstrom and North Branch is holding their very popular Prom Dress Event. Recycled Wardrobes has been collecting gently used, almost brand new prom dresses. They feel that every girl should have a chance to attend prom and that cost of a dress shouldn't keep any girl from attending. They have priced all of their prom dresses at $25. Stop by and pick up a beautiful dress for that special night. No one should have to miss prom because of it’s cost.
This Saturday is the big wrestling extravaganza at Lent Town Hall. I have been telling you about this for weeks, and its finally here. There are a few tickets left if you are looking for some great entertainment this weekend. There is a wonderful dinner that is topped by some serious money being won. There are great games to play as well as raffles for some terrific items. The event will help fund five youth sports and is an absolute blast to attend.
