Lakes Area Police responded to a report of a suicidal male, thought to be armed, at a house on Woodland Drive in Chisago City. Police and deputies established a perimeter and tried to gain entry to the homesite about 9 a.m. Sunday, April 6. The authorities eventually cleared a few hours later when the situation was determined to not be a threat to public safety.
April 5 a report of exterior damages to the Chisago House restaurant in Taylors Falls when it was apparently struck by a skid steer clearing snow. Sheriff’s personnel responded Friday, April 4 to an alarm at Border Bar & Grill in Taylors Falls about 4 a.m. Forced entry was observed, details about losses not available. A school bus and car collided Friday at Maple Lane and #95 in Almelund. The incident was reported about 9:30 a.m. (school was on a two hour late start due to weather.) The bus took some damage to right side, no injuries reported.
April 3 an abandoned garage burned to the ground on Vista Trail, outside of Taylors Falls about 11 p.m. Firefighters monitored the scene but determined it was best to allow the vacant structure to burn. An alleged road rage incident April 2 resulted in property damage and a reported assault at an address on Green Lake Trail. Details are still pending and the county attorney was reviewing the incident for charges. April 1 theft from a shed in Lent Township reported. Tools and miscellaneous were missing. An iPod theft reported at the Chisago Lakes Middle School and two teens were cited for smoking cigarettes at the high school parking lot.
One ATV complaint for the week to Lakes Area Police. Lakes Area Police also made an arrest April 1, of a 31-year-old male driver, following discovery of a car that had struck the east side of the Chisago Warehouse Liquor Store. March 31 state patrol was called to collect several rounds of 9 mm ammunition a motorist noticed lying in the highway, at Shoquist Lane. Patrol spokesperson Lt. Eric Roeske said the ammo was collected by the trooper about 8:30 a.m. in the eastbound left turn lane without incident.
