Stacy business burglaries
The authorities are looking for a trio of suspects in connection with a burglary at the Stacy Wine & Spirits Liquor Store and tobacco (e cig) store next door, reported July 24 about 20 minutes after midnight.  Evidence was located at the scene after a caller said he observed men breaking in through the front doors of the businesses. A dark green Jeep Cherokee is believed to be the suspects’ vehicle.  No details were available on stolen items.

There are still no wake restrictions in effect on Little Lake, and East and West Rush Lakes. The other no-wake zones in the county have been lifted.

Fifth Street Tavern in Rush City called in a suspected cash theft of several hundred dollars and after preliminary investigation, an employee was cited.

Sheriff’s K 9 unit assisted North Branch officers in locating possible parties in connection with a crash on I-35 July 21.  
Two persons were tracked by the dog, and were located “hiding” not far from the scene but both denied driving the vehicle.
An ATV crash at 37150 Oriole Avenue, reported July 25 about 10:30 p.m.  resulted in one female (passenger) transported for medical care. Driver had minor injuries.

Plates were reportedly stolen off a personal vehicle in Rush City and came up later attached to a car that was in a drive-off incident from a North Branch gas station.
Minor injuries reported in a two-car crash on Fir Trail in Lent Township, about 5 p.m. July 23.  A car came out of a driveway and was hit by a second westbound car driver who told the deputy he was trying to stop and “locked up the brakes.”
