Bernice L. Hedstrom, 99, of Cannon Falls passed away December 9, 2014 at the Angel Care Center.

Bernice Lucille Lindell was born October 23, 1915 to Arthur and Ella Lindell in Vasa Township. She attended the one room school house in rural Vasa and was one of 12 siblings who grew up on the family farm.

After helping neighbors for a few years, Bernice married Fredrick F. Hedstrom September 18, 1937 and raised three children.

Bernice spent her life caring for her family and neighbors. She was a cook, housekeeper and homemaker. She enjoyed embroidering and scrapbooking and will be remembered for her compassion and care for others, also her strong faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandsons, Scott Curtis Hedstrom (infant), Kevin Larry Johnson and her 11 siblings.

Bernice is survived by her children, Fred L. (Donna) Hedstrom of Red Wing, Curtis (Betty Hopkins) Hedstrom of Lindstrom and Carol Johnson of Cannon Falls; grandchildren, Todd, Nancy, Diane, Craig, Beth, Sarah and Jeremy; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 Funeral Service 2pm, Saturday Dec. 13 at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church of Cannon Falls, with one hour prior visitation at the church. Arrangements are with Lundberg Funeral Home of Cannon Falls.
