Dorothy M. Weslander passed away on Dec. 10, 2014 after struggling for over a year with lymphoma cancer.  She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.  She was very involved with her children’s activities and lives, making sure all their needs were met, whether it was driving them to activities, helping with homework, or just needing a hug.  She has nieces and nephews that considered her as a second mother to them.  She always helped other family members who required additional health care including her brother Wallace and both of her parents and her parents-in-law in their later years.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
A humble person, over the years Dorothy was involved in the local Garden Club, Church Circle and other Church groups.  She crocheted beautiful doilies as gifts and church donations.  She made and donated hundreds of quilts.  Her quilting expertise won her a prestigious “Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza ‘Brick’” from Lutheran World Relief in Baltimore, Maryland.  

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Claus and Minnie Bjork and her three brothers Robert, Roy and Wallace Bjork.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Winton; Children, Duane (Barbara) Weslander, Allen (Maureen) Weslander, Joyce Sellman Mizejewski, Mark (Cynthia) Weslander and Colleen (Bradley) Hutchison; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services were Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund, MN.  Interment was at the Almelund Cemetery.  Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom grandstrandfh.com
