The Wyoming Planning Commission got a look at a plan to erect a 75 foot monopole communications tower near Comfort Lake, as part of a public hearing Tuesday night this week for a Conditional Use Permit, and planning commission members voted to table the request until the planning commission meeting in April. The commission members had questions about compliance issues in the application and also want to review the potential to co-locate the equipment on another tower also in the general area of Comfort Lake-Greenway Avenue.
City planning commissions hold the public hearings for applications for permits like this. The city council is free to accept additional public comment or not; and also to follow, or not follow, any recommendation that comes out of the commission. Representatives for Verizon have applied to use this site (see map above.)
