Lindstrom, Center City and Chisago City firefighters were sent to a pole building fire on Malmberg Avenue, north of Lindstrom, Feb. 11 about 5 a.m. A patrol deputy spotted the fully engulfed structure while driving on 347th. He helped a resident pry open a gate to free a dog next to the burning building. No details on cause of the fire. A two vehicle crash was reported Wednesday Feb 12 at Hwy. 8 and Pleasant Valley Road. No life threatening injuries were noted, although two persons were transported to Wyoming emergency room. Center City First Responders were at the scene with sheriff personnel. The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. Lakes Area Police had several calls to assist people who had left keys inside of (and locked themselves out of) vehicles.

February 15 an employee at the Lindstrom Liquor Store reported an alleged theft. Surveillance videotape is being reviewed. February 14 an officer was called about a stray male “sheepdog” in the Nathan Avenue area, Lindstrom, and it was transported to Northwoods Humane Society. Fraudulent use of a pre-paid debit card reported at Holiday in Lindstrom. February 12 a kennel inspection was done by the Community Service Officer of a five-dog dwelling on Jocelyn Ave. in Chisago City. No concerns or issues with the dogs’ condition or care were noted. One call to the Chisago Lakes High School for the week for social media harrassment. Also both elementary schools in Chisago City were having technical difficulties with special electronic emergency notification systems.
