Area food shelf now in Chisago City on Liberty Lane; Lindstrom closes

The Family Pathways Food Shelf has re-located, and is no longer in downtown Lindstrom. The program is in the industrial park, just north of the lights at Hwy 8 and Lofton Avenue, Chisago City in the old Frontier communications building. Kathy Wills, Family Pathways, said the Frontier building was actually donated by Dale and Brandi Colberg, about a year ago. But there was an existing lease with Frontier Communications. When it expired crews got into the site for some remodel projects and helpers and staff made the move a couple weeks ago.

Food Shelf Program Coordinator Robin Loken said, “I would like to thank the Spit and Shine guys (a men’s Trinity Church group) volunteers, and the National Honor Society and swim team from Chisago Lakes High School, who all helped make the move more pleasant on the cold snowy winter days. A very big thank you to all of them.” The new Chisago City-based food shelf is open Mondays 9-3, Tuesday and Thursdays 9 to 6. The new address is 10586 Liberty Lane. The phone remains the same: 651-257-1308. Loken added that 120 food packages were assembled for families residing in the Chisago Lakes school district during the holiday. She wanted to thank the Lions and firefighters who helped that effort “The support of the community is amazing. We are all blessed to have such a community as ours.” The facility is now called Chisago Lakes Area Food Shelf.
