Girls
Ellie Frischmon put her best blade forward to try and lead the Chisago Lakes girls alpine ski team to a victory in their home invite before Christmas, but the team fell just a bit short.

The freshman made sure their Northwest Suburban conference meet last week didn’t have the same ending. She delivered a stellar 50.67 second combined total to pace the Lady ‘Cats to a conference victory. She finished in second place overall and had the second fastest times on both runs, finsihing the red run in 25.81 seconds and the blue run in 24.86 seconds. Only Amanda Engelbrekt of Totino Grace had a faster time than Frischmon.

Frischmon’s time was backed up by some great performances by Analise Parks, Hannah Janzig, Lauren Peltier and Hannah Stec. Parks finished in seventh place overall with a combined time of 54.30 seconds. Janzig came in ninth with a time of 55.92 seconds, and Peltier and Stec clocked in just after them in 10th and 11. Peltier finished in 56.42 seconds and Stec in 57.11.

The top finishes led to complete domination in the team standings by the Wildcats. They scored 491 points, besting second place Centennial by nearly 100 points. The Cougars tallied 393 points.

Boys
The boys were in an absolute dogfight all day with Centennial and Andover. The three teams virtually took over the top 15, featuring 10 guys in those 15 spots. After all the snow settled and the points were tallied, though, Centennial earned the hard fought win. The Cougars scored 575 points while Chisago Lakes racked up 571, leaving them painfully close to overtaking Centennial. The Wildcats were again led by the stud duo of Anders Brown and Tanner Rivard.

The two finished second and third in the Wild Mountain Invite, and they earned the same places this week. Brown finished his two course run in 1:06.76 in second place overall, while Rivard finished his in 1:08.45 to finish in third place. John Frischmon and Ryan Mower each grabbed a top 11 spot for the Wildcats. Frischmon finished in ninth place with a time of 1:12.47 and Mower came in 11th with a time of 1:12.47. Casey Bennet tumbled in his first run and only recovered in time for a 1:03.71 finish. But, in the second run, he flashed his talent and potential, finishing the red course in 37.70 seconds, which was good enough for 14th best on that run.

Isaac Bierman had the opposite problem. He had the 22nd best time on the blue course to open the meet, but he lost a small edge, costing him time in the second run, and finished that one in 49.06 seconds, leaving him in 40th place overall. Colin Schladweiler finished 27th for the Wildcats, with a time of 1:19.42.
