Armed hold-up at Tim’s in Stacy
Chisago County deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery about 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 20 at Tim’s Country Cupboard. Suspect had just fled on a snowmobile, authorities were told. The man’s physical description and the sled description were very detailed and a search was conducted. Chisago County deputies tentatvely identified the suspect and went to a home where he was known to stay in Anoka County. Working with Anoka County SWAT members authorities secured the home and three occupants were detained while the residence was searched, according to the sheriff’s information.

A stolen snowmobile and stolen trailer were found and items related to the robbery were seized, authorities said. No arrests were reported, the investigation is on-going. The Tim’s Country Cupboard employee told deputies a male suspect approached him as he worked the register, showed a “silver revolver” and ordered the employee to empty the register of cash. The suspect then fled on his snowmobile.

Lakes Area Police issued several tickets for parking vehicles on streets in violation of winter parking restrictions. The high school in Lindstrom generated four calls; an e cigarette in a student’s possession, use of marijuana, a seizure Jan 15 and student was transported by ambulance, and a simple assault at the school Jan 16. Red Cross is assisting two adults left homeless after a fire at their house outside of Almelund, Jan 16. Firefighters from Almelund, Center City and Taylors Falls answered a fire call about quarter after midnight and found the fully engulfed structure. A cat was rescued and a family dog perished. Preliminary cause of the fire is thought to be candles that ignited a couch. The two adults were also checked out at Cambridge Hospital. Theft of a snowmobile parked at CJs in Palmdale reported. Vexlar and fishing tackle taken from truck. Garage fire at Belle Isle Drive in Nessel. Rush City Dept. attended with assist from Harris and Braham.
