The sheriff’s water patrol was active on Rush, Horseshoe, Mandall and Goose Lakes over last week, writing numerous citations for violating no wake, angling and boating equipment rules...tickets for no horn or whistle, registration and no fire extinguisher were the most common.
July 1 a stolen car and two suspects were apprehended in Lindstrom about 8:20 p.m. by Lakes Area Police with assistance from a deputy patrol.  Incident happened near an apartment building on First St.  A second stolen vehicle was recovered July 5, in a ditch on Hwy 8 near Pioneer Road.  A call sent officers to the site about 7:20 a.m. The plates and VIN came back stolen from Polk Count, Wisconsin.
July 6 shortly after noon a vehicle crashed into a building north of the Viking Blvd and County Road 30 intersection. No injury reported but officers used a fire extinguisher on the vehicle.
Vehicles in Rush City were damaged by unknown suspect with BB gun. Six reports taken of windows and windshields vandalized.
About a dozen illegal fireworks complaints were responded to by Lakes Area Police and sheriff’s patrol combined.
