The Parmly Studios of Art  ladies group has been hard at work.  They may call themselves ‘The Old Sew and Sews’…but make no mistake, these gals are efficient, extremely talented and dedicated.  And, now they are spreading their great work to four needy organizations to bring comfort.  They recently completed 33 quilts and blankets, 10 pillow cases and 15 hand-made dolls to give to Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, the Foster Home of Cambridge, The Refuge and a project called ‘Project Linus’.   

Most of the fabric used to make these items was donated by the local community.  They are always looking for fabric donations for future projects.  

With just eight ladies in the group, they really can produce items in a short amount of time.  The group works on other charity projects throughout the year as well.  Working in the Studios in Chisago City on Mondays and Tuesdays, through socializing and sharing the load, they produce many quality blankets, quilts, pillow cases, wheelchair and walker bags and much more.  For more information, or to join the sewing group or the Studios of Art,  please contact Mara Krinke at [email protected] or 651-257-7956.
