Lakes Area Police were called out to an unusual number of false alarms over the past week...June 15 two calls to businesses on alarms in Center City, June 13 two in Chisago City and June 12 two alarms that were also unfounded in Lindstrom. A power pole caught fire June 15 about 2 a.m. at a Johnson Street location, in Chisago City. Chisago firefighters and Xcel were dispatched. A theft of cash reported from the Kwik Stop gas and convenience store in Lindstrom. Case is under investigation. A citation was written to a 20-year-old man for disorderly conduct related to a fight at Lindstrom’s Beach Park, June 11. A yellow lab dog was brought by Lakes Area to Northwoods Humane Society as owners could not be located. The dog was wandering in Lindstrom.

June 14 Lake Area Bank notified authorities that a bird was loose inside the bank and until it could be caught or coaxed outside, it would probably trigger sensors inside. June 15 a two car crash reported at West 4th and I-35 in Rush City. A car rear-ended another about 2:30 p.m. No injury reported. One ticket for Driving After Revocation. St. John’s Church in Rush City sustained BB gunshot damages to two windows, reported about 10 a.m. also on June 15. Sheriff’s officials are monitoring the roadway near Falcon and 358th in the north corner of Lent Township, as it has been inundated with water from recent rain. Snowmobiles stored on farm property in Nessel Township reported stolen. No description of missing items available. The sheriff’s patrol deputies were sent to a vacant dwelling in Stacy on a call of possible burglary. Men who were “squatting” in the empty home were dealt with and one was detained for possible third degree burglary charges.
