Warrant arrest of suspect in meth sale
Authorities booked a Forest Lake resident this week on charges stemming from an incident in September, when she allegedly sold methamphetamine to an undercover East Central Drug Task Force investigator. Marion Marie Baca is charged with felony sale and fleeing, and a misdemeanor for providing false information when detained. Court documents say 28- year-old Marion Marie Baca, Forest Lake, met the task force buyer at a location in Stacy and the purchase was made using a cache of pre-inventoried bills ($800). The drug task force member bought 11.9 grams of methamphetamine, the complaint states. Baca was arrested by state patrol and a Chisago County deputy as she drove away on I-35 immediately after the alleged sale last fall. She was processed, charged and last week was re-apprehended on the warrants.
Most of the county calls last week were for dozens of vehicle crashes, mid to late week, because of icy roads and blowing and drifting...and a number of incidents involving tractors and plow trucks, causing property damage in the course of trying to clear roadways. Lakes Area Police issued numerous tickets for overnight parking on city streets in Chisago City and Lindstrom. No overnight parking is still in effect, as long as snow continues to be plowed. February 25 the tip jar on the counter at China Panda was swiped. A suspect grabbed it and ran about 4 p.m. February 26 an inspection of a home on Shoreline Court where six dogs are housed. The Community Service Officer said no issues were noted, there’s underground fencing/collar devices and there have been no complaints. A lockdown drill was held at Lakeside School. E- cigarette use on school bus reported. Complaint about large debris a driver struck in the highway, near Deer Garden Lane, about 6 a.m. Patrol and Lakes Area officers took a large garbage can off the highway marked as belonging to Forest Lake Sanitation. Unlike the tool officers carry to unlock vehicles-- there is no magic tool carried by law enforcement to gain access to a frozen gas cap. A Lakes Area officer was called to Kwik Trip in Chisago City to assist with getting cap off last week.
