A special group of musicians who have gotten together strictly for the love of creating orchestral sounds, are keeping the masters alive with concerts around this area. The St. Croix Valley Orchestra performances feature Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Strauss, Aaron Copland and more Pictured left is conductor Randolph Elliott and the musicians at a concert at Pt. Pleasant senior living community Monday night this week. The St. Croix Valley Orchestra is comprised of 25 members and is in its 24th year. The volunteer musicians are led by Center City resident Elliot, who enjoys sharing a biographical details about each composer at the concerts. The admission is a freewill offering. The St. Croix Valley Orchestra spring series continues at Main Street Church in North Branch Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. and a concert at Trinity Church in Lindstrom, Sunday, at 3 p.m. The summer tour hasn’t been announced yet, Watch this paper or see www.scvorchestra.org.
