Wallace A. Carlson

Wallace A. Carlson of Lindstrom, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Ecumen Parmly LifePointes in Chisago City, Minnesota at the age of 91.

Wally was born May 23, 1922 in Marine, Minnesota to parents Arthur and Florence (Larson) Carlson.  He graduated from Osceola High School in 1940.   On March 14, 1945 he married Irene Rydeen at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, Minnesota.  He owned and operated Wally Carlson Standard Oil for 42 years.  In his free time Wally volunteered in the community, served on the Lindstrom City Council, Board of Social Ministry, and the Ecumen Parmly Board, along with many church activities.

Wallace is preceded in death by his wife Irene.  

Wallace is survived by daughter Gloria Klinefelter, sons Wade (Roxanne), James, Tim (Nancy); grandchildren Kelly Klinefelter-Lee, Michael Klinefelter, Julie Rahaim, Matthew Carlson, Ryan Carlson, Trisha Carlson, Angela Carlson, Rebecca Haywood, Renee Meyer, 17 great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.  

Visitation 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 5. Funeral services Tuesday, May 6 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City at 11 a.m.  Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Center City.  Memorials preferred.  Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be left online at www.grandstrnadfh.com
