These two, goalkeeper Ian Lawlor and defenseman Tory Copeland, were a big reason the Wildcats were 12-2-2 on the year.
They formed a very effective one-two punch on the backline -- as evidenced by the 13 goals CL allowed this year. That included six clean sheets for Lawlor.
For the Senior Classic, which took place at North St. Paul High School on Wednesday, November 5, the two were nominated by a soccer official and put through a rigorous judging process.
The two made the team and were together on the black squad, which was comprised of Class A players from around the state. They battled against the best of the best from Class AA.
The game, which was won by Class AA, was played in strong wind, with rain mixing in with snow, but the two seniors still have a great experience and memory of playing together one last time.
