Friday, October 24 a large outdoor brush fire was reported and Lakes Area Police went to the Green Lake Trail address about 11 p.m. There was no burning permit authorized for the site and the owners were advised to reduce the blaze down to a three-foot-wide pit recreational fire.

October 24 theft of a duck boat’s nine horsepower Johnson motor and gas tank from near Dennis Frandsen County Park on Rush Lake.

About midnight Wyoming Police called Lakes Area for an assist at the East Viking Blvd. apartment of a woman who said a suspect had forcibly entered. The suspect was arrested by Wyoming P.D.

Lakes Area Police disposed of a Yorkshire terrier dog that had been run over on the Lake Lane frontage road October 25 about 4 p.m.  The dog had no collar. The driver of the car said the dog was suddenly in the roadway and unavoidable.

Also, Oct 25 Lakes Area was on patrol in the North Meadows neighborhood, Lindstrom,  and observed suspicious juvenile activities...the officer ended up citing three minors for alcohol and/or marijuana and one for violating curfew. The detentions and tickets were issued about a half hour after midnight.
A sheriff’s squad attempted a traffic stop about 1:15 a.m. and ended up giving chase of a motorcyclist on I 35, just south of Stacy.

Fleeing at speeds approaching 130 mph the deputy dropped back and radioed the description to state patrol. East metro agencies picked up the suspect on the road and pursued. The  motorcycle was ditched near Prescott, Wisc where the operator fled on foot.  The male suspect was apprehended soon after.
A Towards Zero Deaths traffic code program that helps to fund enforcement saturations was activated in Lindstrom last week, and resulted in multiple tickets for both failing to wear seatbelts and for not granting pedestrians crosswalk right-of-way.  Interestingly the majority of the drivers,  warned for violating pedestrian crosswalk laws, were age 47 to 75 years.

October 26 authorities recovered a Can Am and aluminum trailer, reported stolen earlier this month from property on the north part of the county. The item was located at an address on St. Croix Trail in Amador Township. The investigation is continuing.
