Saturday, April 25 authorities were sent to Big Game Bar in Shafer on a call of a fight taking place about 2:30 a.m.  Statements were taken and there was damage done to the bar’s bathroom sink. No information on charges available.

Thursday, April 23 area law enforcement agencies assisted North Branch Police on a report of a man discharging a firearm at golfers or near golfers on the south end of the North Branch Golf Course.  A suspect “barricaded” himself in a dwelling on Timber Lane but eventually surrendered without further incident.  Call came in about 6 p.m.

The suspect charged in connection was identified by authorities as Nicholas John Goulette. He makes a court appearance May 6.
Also April 23 a house fire was knocked down by quick responders using an extinguisher.

The call came in about 1 a.m. of a fire in a Pine Street house in Taylors Falls,  and the homeowner informed deputies upon arrival the fire was in a utility room.  Deputies and Taylors Falls Fire Chief were able to put the fire out with an extinguisher and Shafer and TF firefighters ventilated the dwelling.

Other incidents over the prior week include Lakes Area Police dealing with illegal burning at an address on Railroad Ave in Chisago City, about 7 p.m. April 20.  And, Harris firefighters and DNR crews put out a field fire when an ATV got stuck April 26 about 1 p.m. igniting long grass near Forest Blvd.

House fire arouses suspicion; three are charged

Information was made available this week on three suspects who were booked by Wyoming Police, April 9 and 10 and who have been charged.

Wyoming firefighters went to the scene of a chimney fire at a home on 264th,  about 6 a.m. and later informed authorities of an odd room/enclosure they noticed as part of the garage space.   Authorities obtained a search warrant and ended up calling in Hazmat experts  to dispose of suspicious contents in a barrel, later alleged to be fertilizer.  Wyoming Chief of Police Paul Hoppe said materials allegedly used in a marijuana grow operation were taken into evidence, and that authorities spent about 12 hours dismantling the site.

According to district court records;  three suspects have been charged with possession:  Amy Jeanne Flaherty, 51, Isaac Flaherty, 23 and Mark Charles Wiosky, 57, all of Wyoming.

Wiosky makes a first court appearance May 20.

A trial date tentatively set for the Flahertys is June 6.
