The call to 9-1-1 came in about 1 a.m., alleging that four suspects had made a forced entry into the home and two people at the residence had sustained “pistol whip” injuries and had been threatened at gunpoint while robbers searched the home.
The sheriff’s department said the victims had to get to another address to notify authorities because cell phones were stolen, along with cash and a flat screen T.V. One of the robbery suspects was reportedly known to the home occupants and he and a second suspect were located, detained quickly and booked. The other two alleged robbery suspects are reported to be held in other counties’ facilities, as of early this week.
August 11 a road hazard was addressed by deputies who were dispatched to a hay wagon and truck incident at County Road 14 and Kost Trail, reported about 9 p.m. The hay wagon apparently rolled and spilled its load, as a truck was westbound on Kost and tried to turn onto #14. No injuries reported but it took trucks, wagon and skid steer to cleanup the debris. There was a warning crew and lights set up to alert drivers.
August 12 Lakes Area officers went to check on a complaint of animals being treated poorly and too many in a house on Jocelyn Avenue, Chisago City. A animal humane society investigator is working with the animal owner and authorities on addressing the situation. A kennel permit, spelling out conditions, etc., will be required if the resident wishes to retain the animals.
August 13 theft of a small outboard motor, marine battery and gas can from an address in Chisago City.
Also Aug 13 Holiday in Lindstrom reported coming across a counterfeit $100 bill but suspect exited the store without exchanging it for goods. Reported about 2:30 a.m.
August 15 a dog bite incident was reported to Lakes Area. Child reportedly was riding a small scooter, in the Hailey’s Court area, and dog broke away from owner and bit the child’s right leg.
