Marlyn was born on January 30, 1930 to parents John and Edith (Hall) Abrahamson in Taylors Falls. Marlyn graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School in 1948. He married Nelda Ullrich on June 5, 1955 at Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota. He was an active lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Marlyn had a lifelong love of farming having grown up on the family dairy farm north of Lindstrom and continuing on the same farm upon his graduation from High School. Marlyn and Nelda took over operation of the farm after their marriage and raised their family there. When their son Alan took over the operation of the farm in 1992 Marlyn and Nelda retired and moved to Lindstrom. Marlyn loved to help out on the farm until his health prevented him from doing so.
He is survived by his wife Nelda; sons Kevin of Plymouth, Loren (Lisa) of Centerville and Alan (Sue) of Lindstrom; four grandchildren: Tyler, Jenna, Timothy and Joseph and one great grandchild, Aria. He is also survived by his sister, Jann Abrahamson of Bloomington and brother Ronald of Cedar Falls, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Music will be provided by Julie Lauritzen as organist and Dan Ford as soloist. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
