Over the week Lakes Area wrote numerous warnings for on-street parking violations.  Readers are reminded just because there is little snow (as of press deadline) there are urban ordinances in place that prohibit overnight on street parking. Tickets carrying fines will be issued if there’s a snowfall that can’t be cleared well because of vehicles obstructing plows.

An out of control male reported December 27 about 6 p.m. in the Wyoming-Chisago City area due to what the caller said was a bad acid trip.  Suspect actively fought with a Wyoming officer and was detained on a 72-hour hold.

Tool bag stolen from address on Olinda Trail, reported morning of Dec 27. Tools valued at $3,500 were in a vehicle.

An assault reported at a motel on Lake Blvd. in Lindstrom about 10 a.m. Dec. 26.  One male was arrested.  

Two youths injured this same day when a sled he was riding in behind a snowmobile crashed into a tree on private property in Nessel Township, about 3:45 p.m. Allina Ambulance transported the kids to Cambridge Medical Center.

Also, a male was removed from the ski hill at Wild Mountain and faces charges for theft of services as he did not have a lift ticket.

December 25 a “fully engulfed” barn fire required Taylors Falls, St Croix and Almelund firefighters for response. Reported about 8 p.m. the fire location was Unity Avenue Sunrise Township. A cow perished. The owner reportedly had replaced the pickup truck heater block and plugged it in leaving the truck in the metal pole-style barn. He noticed smoke later and made the 9-1-1 call.

Also Dec. 25 a two vehicle crash is being attributed to use of a cell phone by one of the two drivers. The Wyoming Police, deputies assisted at the crash scene on Forest Boulevard in Lent Township, at approximately noon. Three persons were taken to Fairview Lakes. No details available.

December 24 a theft of wedding gifts that were stored at D & S Storage unit Harris. Lock was cut sometime in last couple weeks.

A report December 22 that stolen checks were turning up cashed at local businesses. The checks were taken from a mailbox in Rush City.
