The Lakes Area Police Lifesaving Award went to Chisago City resident Evelyn Rodrique, who is credited with performing life-saving measures on a victim she came upon lying on the side of a roadway, at the border of the Wyoming and Lakes Area police service territories last October.   She realized the victim was in a life threatening situation and she rendered medical aid credited with saving the victim’s life.  Even after officers had arrived, she continued to assist in care.

Nominated by Lakes Area Police Officer Varco for her quick actions,  Rodrique, who also serves on the Wyoming Police Department reserves unit,  attended the award presentation last week with friends and family.  She is pictured with Wyoming Police Chief and Public Safety Director Paul Hoppe, left;  and Varco and Lakes Area Chief of Police Kevin Stenson, right.
