There was a call to 9-1-1 about 10:30 p.m. June 28 of a man outside of a house in Fish Lake Township shooting off rounds from a firearm and that several persons inside the dwelling were afraid to go outside.
Deputies, assisted by area police and SWAT team members, went to the site and house occupants were transported away from the scene in a specialized vehicle. The suspect was located, unarmed, and was subdued.
Authorities seized firearms and shells inside the residence and booked the suspect.
Lakes Area Police were also aided by deputies in making an arrest in a domestic incident, involving strangulation. The raucus was reported in Lindstrom, about 2 a.m. and the suspect reportedly fled in a pickup truck with Tennessee license plates. The 63-year-old man was pulled over on Green Lake Trail and taken into custody for assault after he allegedly fled the scene where the incident originated on 318th Street.
Lakes Area took two calls reporting the IRS scam where people are notified they must send a large sum to the government to avoid prosecution. The IRS will not contact a taxpayer by email or call about something like this. Never send money.
The Lindstrom, Chisago City, Forest Lake and Wyoming fire departments were sent to the scene of a house fire June 26 on 242nd Street, rural Chisago City. No details available.
Lakes Area took a stray female chocolate Lab into custody.
