Above all, she valued family, church and friends. She was a teacher, a great listener, mom, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. Her home was open to anyone who happened to be in town. “Shirley’s Place” was always buzzing with carousing card games, BBQs, badminton, ping pong and bocce ball with family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing, bon fires, reading, watercolor painting, volunteering, listening to classical music, knitting, gardening, traveling, cooking and baking.
She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral mass will be in September at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with a reception to follow.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 222 W Redoubt Ave., in Soldotna, Alaska 99669.
