Lenore E. Greene, age 60 of Shafer, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 due to prolonged complications with pneumonia.  Lenore was born at St. Croix Falls Hospital on July 8, 1955 to parents Edward and Loretta Wayne of Center City, Minnesota.  (Ed and Loretta had moved “from” and later back “to” Floodwood, Minnesota.)

Lenore went to school in Lindstrom, Minnesota and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1973.  She worked for a time at Parmly Nursing Home, Glomer Plastics, and Shafer Crossroads before becoming a full time homemaker.  Lenore married Brian Greene of Shafer, Minnesota on February 7, 1976, her loving husband of nearly 40 years.  They later had two boys, Joe Greene of Osceola, Wisconsin and Jason Greene of Shafer, Minnesota.  

In 1986, Lenore moved with her family to their farm in Shafer, where she has continued to raise, support, and care for her family.  Throughout life Lenore was much like her Dad, as some of her favorite things were;  fishing, hunting, gardening, and shooting pool.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Loretta Wayne of Floodwood, Minnesota, and father-in-law Verner Greene Sr. of Shafer, Minnesota.

She is survived by her husband Brian Greene; sons Joe Greene and Jason Greene; brother Elard Wayne; mother-in-law Isabelle Greene; and many good friends and family.  Lenore was a great wife, mom, and friend!  She will be greatly missed!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Lindstrom, Minnesota with visitation 5-8 pm Thursday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to the Mass at church on Friday.  Interment at St. Francis Cemetery in Franconia Township, Minnesota.  Condolences may be left online at www.grandstrandfh.com
