A raccoon was shot May 31 by a patrol officer when it exhibited erratic behavior and physical symptoms of illness. The animal was found near Kirby Avenue. The carcass was discarded by the officer.
A previously classified “dangerous dog” was the suspect in another dog bite incident reported in the Interlachen Road neighborhood May 27. The dog owner was cited for failing to comply with ordinance retrictions.
May 26 neighbors reported a dog remaining on the front porch of a vacated house, on North Lakes Trail, for four days. Dog was collected and is being cared for.
May 25 two loose horses were reported near Hwy. 8 and 275th Street. Officer assisted with taffic control while horses were contained.
May 31 an assault reported in Lent Township about 9 p.m. Suspect alert sent out and found in Anoka County, Chisago County took custody. She has been transferred to Fairview Riverside for observation.
The county has a suspect in custody following a jewelry theft report in Fish Lake Township May 30. A pawn shop assisted in the arrest.
Sheriff’s deputies went to investigate a stolen trailer taken from Polk County Wisconsin and recovered the unit in Franconia Township.
Also May 30 an alleged altercation at JJ’s Bowl and Lounge in North Branch reported about 1 a.m. sent mutual aid. Two female victims claimed to have been struck and the suspect, also female, was inside. Bar manager requested all three be removed, and law enforcement complied.
MN PCA and state Duty Officer for hazardous spills are alerted to an incident May 29 on Old Towne Road, Chisago City, where a number of pails of gasoline were spilled. The offense was reported about 9 p.m.
A Taylors Falls resident reported being victimized in a Craigslist scam, where he was instructed to pay a deposit for an apartment and a property manager would coordinate locating a rental. The funds were to be provided in a re-loadable VISA card through Walgreens. This is a frequently reported scam.
May 28 the sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of vandalism to Moody Round Barn Park. There were spray painted disparaging comments on the pole building, not the historic round barn. Chisago Lake Township park staff will address removal of words.
May 26 two dogs reportedly killed a number of chickens and one turkey on a Rushseba Township property. Dogs are described as large brown and small brown-and-black. Both have orange collars. One may have been hit by a bullet the property owner fired as they fled.
May 25 Interstate Park in Taylors Falls reported about noontime, the canoe rental structure was entered, and keys and other items were missing. Loss is $700.
