Theft of mail from mailbox in Fish Lake Township reported.
Large sum check made out to complainant among missing items in a reported break-in May 12 in Nessel Township home. Also, this same day a woman was interrogated for possibly being a suspect in the burglary of a home in Rushseba Township. Her minivan was found stuck in a yard, on Government Road, at a site that the homeowner reported as being burglarized. The investigation continues.
A number of tools and related construction items were taken from a box lifted 20 feet in the air at a site in Lent Township. Authorities could see where items were dragged from the scene to a waiting vehicle, on Falcon Avenue.
A car drove around the lowered stop arms on the rail corridor, at 4th and Dana in Rush City, and hit a car on the opposite side of the tracks. Driver told deputies she was in a hurry and didn’t see any trains. Incident was reported about 9:30 a.m. May 13. No serious injury resulted.
There was an incident where a vehicle drove into the glassed front of the new Fairview Clinic in Chisago City. Reported about 1 p.m. May 15. Driver was uninjured. May 16 sheriff’s report contains several mailbox damage incidents in Lent Township. Suspect appears to have used a baseball bat on mailboxes.
The Lakes Area police took a stray black lab dog from Lindstrom to the Northwoods Humane Society May 17. The dog has an orange collar but no ID.
One complaint of the on-going IRS scam by phone. Caller is informed they must send the IRS money. The federal government does not make notice of IRS collection by phone.
