Did that water tower used to have something else on it?
Yes, you did see artwork suddenly appear over the weekend on the Chisago City watertower. The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is in the midst of its “52 surprises” campaign (or one approximately every week this year) to celebrate its centennial anniversary. Three Minnesota watertowers are getting wrapped in artwork as part of the Institute’s 100 year birthday celebration. The other cities are Minnetonka and New Hope. The Chisago City painting is “Olive Trees” by VanGogh. The VanGogh, which is 27 feet by 60 feet, can be removed, but will stay up through the summer.
