Lee W. Spence of Chisago City, MN died suddenly at his home, November 4 at the age of 82.

Lee was born December 13, 1932 in Fort Dodge, IA to George and Doris Spence.  He graduated from Cherokee  High School in 1951.  He attended Iowa State University  and graduated from Buena Vista College with a Bachelors in Education.  Lee served in the US Army.  He married his wife Joyce on December 24, 1953 in Cherokee, IA.   Lee was the co-owner of Hy-Capacity Engineering and Manufacturing.   In his free time he enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching football and especially his family.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and brother Chuck.  He is survived by his wife Joyce, children Jon (Debby) Spence of Wyoming, MN; Kelly (Molly Clemen) Stattelman of Mounds View, MN; Karen (Steve) Anderson of Cedar Falls, IA; Ann (Mark) Crew of Boise, ID, five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
