Mary A. Gunderson of Shafer died October 7 at the Good Samaritan Center, at the age of 74.

Mary was born August 6, 1941 in Mercer, MO to Joseph and Florence Collier.  She graduated from Mercer High School in 1959.  On October 24, 1960 she married Lowell Gunderson at Rock Island, IL.  Mary worked as a bar tender at the Lindstrom Municipal Liquor store and as a meat wrapper at Cherry Hill in Taylors Falls.  In her free time she enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, wintering in Texas, playing cards, bird watching, playing pool and reading westerns.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eva Watson and daughter Phyllis Gunderson.  She is survived by her husband Lowell, daughter Opal Jane Macken, brother Raymond Collier, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces Judy Porter, Lind Benish; nephew John Randal Watson.
