A North Branch man who is a registered predatory sex offender in connection with a conviction in the state of Wisconsin, is now charged here with possessing pornographic works in violation of his conditions of release.
Authorities charged 45-year-old Richard Lawrence Tereau with six counts of possessing computerized images of naked girls around 9 to 12 years of age.
A Chisago County probation supervisor had made a court visit to Tereau’s home on Elm Street in North Branch in March, and noticed he had a computer which was a violation of his release.
On the screen, but in “sleep mode” upon the agent’s arrival at his home, was a pornographic image. The agent contacted law enforcement and North Branch Police assisted in getting a warrant and seizing the computer and hard drive. A county electronic forensics investigation discovered 1,500 unlawful images on Tereau’s equipment, according to the complaint.
Tereau was booked October 13 and is being held at the jail.
Assault reported the week of Oct 12 at the Chisago Lakes Area High School, officers took a minor student into custody.
Numerous citations were issued during a law enforcement saturation in the Lindstrom area last week, many drivers pulled over for no seatbelt were also found to have additional outstanding warrants or had driving license revoked or suspended.
Taylors Falls wastewater treatment plant worker realized a trailer had been stolen from the facility. Item is 22 foot long, tandem axel flatbed, black is main color.
House burglary reported at an address on West 7th in Rush City.
October 14-15 two reports of residential burglary in North Branch, one address on Goodview and one on Oak Street.
October 17 officers surrounded a home on Newlander Street, in Lindstrom, to make an arrest but were not able to locate the suspect. Incident happened around 4 a.m. A vehicle was seized and impounded.
Oct 17 a call to North Branch Police of a theft from vehicle on 381st.
An Iowa vehicle plate was turned into Lakes Area Police. Owner has 30 days to claim.
October 18 a report of property damage to exterior of a home on Lakelawn Drive, Lindstrom. Suspects were located and investigation file is at county attorney’s office for possible charges.
October 20 sheriff’s patrol and Lakes Region EMS were dispatched about 1:30 p.m. to Rush City High School for an unresponsive 16 year old male who collapsed. He had been participating in Phy Ed class outdoors. Deputies used an AED and North Air transported the young man to Children’s Hospital. His condition was not released as of late Tuesday.
