Scam reports continue to come into police...the scammers will say the complainant has an arrest warrant but for a sum in cash the warrant will be dropped. The IRS scam is also continuing locally.  Another was reported by a Lindstrom woman who was sent a “check” for $3,757 and advised to deposit and then open and load the money onto network cash cards. Police took the materials into evidence.

About 2 a.m. a report of a hit and run crash at Big Game Bar & Grill. Deputies gathered accounts of the incident at the bar and went to the suspect’s house on 305th. The suspect allegedly resisted arrest and allegedly used a baseball bat to make his point.  “Multiple TASER deployments” were unsuccessful, and the naked suspect was only subdued when other law enforcement personnel arrived and assisted.

Also September 13 a theft from a vehicle parked overnight at CJs in Palmdale. A 2004 Polaris proX400 snowmobile engine was taken valued at $1,400.

A Lost & Found tale
A deputy patroling at Hay Days,  Sept 12,  was presented with a backpack found on the grounds by a citizen. Using the Internet the deputy located an address from the backpack’s school I.D.-holder and also a phone number. He got ahold of the family by cell phone, as they were heading through North Branch on their way home to South Dakota. The deputy met up with them in North Branch, and backpack and its contents were handed over.
