Motorists on both directions of Highway 8 will continue to encounter a road closure south of Taylors Falls.
 
Highway 8 between the north and south intersections of Highway 95 was expected to re-open to car traffic only. However, additional rainfall has caused further deterioration of the section of road and adjacent slope. Maintenance crews have temporarily stabilized the area of road where the deterioration had occurred. A permanent repair will occur during the Highway 8 construction project currently underway. The road is expected to reopen in October.
 
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour through Osceola using Highway 95, Highway 243 and Wisconsin Highway 35. Local residents and Wildwood Campground visitors can continue to access the area from the west end of the Highway 8 closure.  Access to Interstate Park is provided from the east end of the Highway 8 closure.
