The Chisago Lake Joint Sewage Treatment Commission facility, north of Chisago City, is open for yard debris disposal and if you want to take home compost bring containers or a trailer or a pickup.

The facility is on Lofton Avenue, north of the four-way stop signs on Stacy Trail. Look for the sign on the east side at 31501 Lofton Avenue. HOurs are Wednesdays from 2 to 7 p.m. (dusk) and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Residents of communities that support the facility use it for no charge-- these are Lindstrom, Chisago City, Stacy and Wyoming.  Others wanting to drop off leaves, grass clippings and small debris (up to 3 inch diameter) will be charged a composting fee.  Show your I.D. to the gate attendant.

The site stays open until November 19.
