96-year-old rides the waves with a little help from her friends
At age 96, (as of November) Gertrude has been methodically ticking items off her bucket list. The staff at Vindauga View Assisted Living in Chisago City, where she’s resided for several years, have been making her adventures possible-- and this week they helped her take a ride on a personal watercraft, despite the fact she doesn’t swim.
Gertrude has also jumped from an airplane, ridden a hot air balloon, done the zipline at Trollhaugen and has been for a motorcycle ride.
Picture right; personal watercraft operator and provider of the dock LPN Sheryl Flint gets ready to go. Luke and John, standing in water, followed Gertrude and Sheryl providing backup on their own vessels.
Many Ecumen Parmly LifePointes staff punched out early and were on hand to cheer Gertrude on.
