Jerry was born February 8, 1949 in Fargo, North Dakota to parents Donald and Gertrude (Methorst) Bleecker.
After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from August 1968 to August 1970 and his discharge was honorable.
He married Renae Kempel on January 31, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner, North Dakota. In September 1970 Jerry and Renae moved to Oakdale, Minnesota and Jerry became employed at the Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant until he retired 41 years later in 2011. In 1984 the family moved to Stacy, Minnesota. Jerry enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, camping, family gatherings and spending the winters in Arizona after retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Gertrude Bleecker. Jerry is survived by his wife Renae Bleecker of Stacy, Minnesota; son Craig (Kandi) Bleecker of North Branch, Minnesota,; daughter Julie (Travis) Klein of Shafer, Minnesota; grandchildren Jacob and Justin Klein, and Paige and Corey Bleecker; sisters Carolyn (Roger) Klemetson, Donna Bleecker, and Ann Unterburger.
Memorial Services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Franconia Cemetery in Franconia, Minnesota. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Condolences may be expressed online at www.grand strandfh.com
